A breaking record artwork for the recovery of Culture
The longest arwork in the world is the message for the recovery of culture of the young art talent Dale. On May 4th Guinness World Records committee announced officially The Walk of Peace” as the longest artwork created by an artist.
On September 5th the Italian artist Dale exhibited The Walk of Peace, an installation of 5 Km that marks the recovery of art and culture in the world.
The Walk of Peace with its 5310 meters becomes the longest artwork in the world by a single artist and it is going to enter the prestigious Guinness World Records Book breaking the previous record of 3,3 Km set in the USA.
The Italian seafront, from the jetty of Forte dei Marmi to Massa, City for Peace, has been transformed into a giant colored rainbow with thousands of butterflies on it.

“This moment of complexity caused by COVID-19 has forced also art and culture to discover new unexplored dimensions.
From the daily uncertainty raises the artwork The Walk of Peace, a determined message for a positive recovery. I have created a journey into the colors of the rainbow, an immersive experience where people could concretely live a positive dimension. Rainbow is a very simple element that recalls a sense of marvel and wonder. These sensations are into the work also through the lightness of graceful butterflies which fly over fields and oceans of colors.” Dale
The project and its realization took more than 5 months, it has been supported by companies coming from all Italy, by the Region Tuscany and the city of Forte dei Marmi, Montignoso and Massa.
Important contributions to the mission of the artwork come also from the sport world: the icon of Italian football Gigi Buffon expressed with energy his support to the initiative and the Italian Hockey Champion team of Forte dei Marmi walked the track of the painting with the torch of peace donated by association Peace Run.
INSPIRATION
During the last months we have seen thousands of rainbows fixed out our windows. And, what if all these positive messages will be collected in the world longest artwork ever created by an artist?
A universal message of solidarity and optimism, which deals with different themes: peace and hope to the future, empathy and diversity, culture and environmental sustainability.
GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS
Break a Guinness World Record is an amazing event: The Walk of Peace with its colored rainbows represents a concrete message of hope and optimism to the COVID-19 pandemic.
At 15.30 CET the delegate jury of the Guinness World Records composed by the architect Luca Martini, the Director of Carrara Fine Arts Academy Luciano Massari and Anna Provenza moved the first steps to measure the overall length of the artwork. 5310 meters this is the final verdict. The artwork The Walk of Peace becomes the longest painting in the world by an individual.
The press conference took important contributions from the culture world such as the Italian Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini, the President of Consiglio Regionale Toscano Eugenio Giani, the mayors of Forte dei Marmi, Massa and Montignoso, Luciano Massari, Director of Fine Arts Academy Carrara, the President of Colors for Peace Antonio Giannelli and the President of Peace Run Italy Alfredo De Joannon.
After the exhibition the artwork has been dismantled and part of it sent to the principal contemporary art and peace museum of the world spreading a positive message of hope.

COLORS FOR PEACE
The exhibition is supported by the Association Colors For Peace, which promotes children’s art internationally to reduce cultural, social and economic distances between rich and poor countries. The drawings created by the children come from 135 countries of 5 continents and took part to prestigious exhibitions, such as: G7 Lucca, Foreign Ministry of European Union in Bruxelles, Expo Milano 2015, Olympic Games Rio de Janeiro 2016, Salone dei Cinquecento Florence, Istituto Italiano della Cultura of Prague.
Important acknowledgements have been given from institutions as the Patronage of the European Parliament and Consiglio Regionale Toscano.
